i lost another staring contest with the mirror
my opponent he whispers sweet nothings into my ear
when i ask him nicely he's happy to share his regrets
but augmented arguments placate his sentiments
he'll beat the truth out of himself just give him more time
if you need the answers now then get in line.
i see my integrity
laid out in front of me
little to no defense against my own pretense
no one but me demands these actions
a strict adherence to moral distractions
why?
i'll be your reflection
just to avoid detection
searching for clues and heeding the warnings of your discretion
if i stand in opposition
at least it will be my decision
why
did it take so long for me to realize?

An elegantly restrained post-rock LP from Signal Hill that is more in line with Tristeza and the instrumental parts of 3 Mile Pilot in contrast to the tension / release of bands like Explosions In The Sky or Ascent Of Everest, but these lilting, chiming songs are extremely well-played and a wonderful LP to headphone on a long winter walk brantly
Industrial textures and vocals with a hint of gothic melodrama come together on tAngerinecAt''s latest trip to the dark side. Bandcamp New & Notable May 3, 2022
